Joseph has a background as both a school psychologist and longtime director of guidance at one of the top public high schools in the United States. During his tenure in guidance, he was known for the breadth of his knowledge, his deep relationship with his counselees and his strong advocacy for his students with disabilities. He has been responsible for dramatically increasing college-going rates for minority students. Joseph's passion for his students has made him a champion for social justice as well.  His approach to students is summed up in the company's motto:
